Help Small Businesses During Covid That Are Struggling
Many of the small businesses during covid-19 that are struggling today are mostly brick and mortar businesses and restaurants.
These types of small businesses may not do well online or have options to do business online.
We can’t eat food online or share a drink online yet in 2021.
Buy From Those Small Businesses Instead of the Big Retailers
The number one thing we can do is purchase things from small businesses vs. the big box retailers. Not just the things we need for our businesses but in our daily lives. Learn who you are purchasing from. Understand their values and their vision.
Is that company you are buying from have items made in the USA? Do a little research before making your purchases.
Go Out to Eat or Grab a Coffee at a Local Coffee Shop
If you can support your local restaurants and coffee shops. You may not be able to eat indoors but you can order take-out. These types of things can help the local economy.
When you do go out to eat or grab take-out be sure to leave a decent tip for those waiting on you. There are fewer people coming in so the tips are much lower as a whole for those working at these small businesses during covid.
Recommend Your Favorite Small Business During Covid
Give out recommendations to your favorite small business as they may be struggling with covid as we enter into 2021. You can give them a Google review, a Facebook page review, a Yelp review, or send them a personal review for their website.
Many small businesses will appreciate this as they don’t have the dollars to market their business during these difficult times.
Share Their Businesses on Social Media
Yes, sharing their social media posts can help spread the word about them. They may not have the funds now with Covid to spend on social media marketing.
Share what their specials and products are with your recommendations on social media. This can help them generate some new business from people you know.
It’s easy and quick to do on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
Raise or Lend Money to Help Small Businesses During Covid
If you are able you could help raise funds to keep a local small business open or load money. Doing a fundraiser with other local businesses in the area that are doing well even during covid would be a feel-good experience and could save a family from heartbreak. Generosity can go a long way!
Of course, there are small business guidance and loans available from the SBA as well.
