3 Ways Employees Engaged In Your Business Are Essential

Employees engaged in your business are the backbone of any business today. Without engaged employees and customers, the business ceases to exist.

Yet, some business owners forget just why they need their employees engaged in the first place, and as such don’t take the time to treat them properly.

Keep reading down below if you want to find out more about how engaged employees perform better for you.

What Makes Them Interact With You?

Engaged employees interact with you when they feel valued, respected, and have a sense of purpose in their work. Make them part of the decision-making process and listen to their ideas.

Give these engaged employees an opportunity for growth and development. Then, provide regular feedback, both positive and constructive.

Next, foster an open and transparent company culture where they feel comfortable speaking up.

Finally, recognize and reward the employees engaged whose hard work and achievements help you. Above all, treat them as human beings, not just resources.

New Ideas For Your Biz From Engaged Employees

First, engaged employees bring you new ideas that you use to move your business forward. There are different ideas from your employees due to their different life experiences, due to their different interactions with people, and due to the environment around them.

You are never going to get the same ideas from people who have come from two different backgrounds, or at the very least it’s extremely rare. There is a  new report on diversity at work by GoodHire that has recently been released, and this might be of particular interest to some business owners.

The more diverse your workforce is, the wider the range of ideas is going to be. New ideas are important for your business to grow.

So you need people to provide them for you, as it is hard for you to do it all yourself.

Providing The Service

Another thing that you rely on your employees engaged for is to provide the actual service to the customer. Some business owners provide services as well to customers but not always.

As well as this, even if you do provide the service as well, you wouldn’t be able to cater to nearly as many customers as you can thanks to the help of your workforce.

Your team works hard to ensure that your customers have the best experience possible with your business. You should be grateful to these employees engaged with your clients for giving them their everything.

They are helping to build your business into the best it can be, rather than just doing an okay job.

Customer Service of Employees Engaged

The final thing that you need your engaged employees for is customer service. There is no way that you would be able to handle all of the customer service sides of things, as well as providing the service to customers.

As such, you need employees to help you keep things efficient. They can talk to people who have complaints, arrange the schedule and so much more. Already you can see that employees do a lot for your business, and that is what makes them essential.

Your most engaged employees provide fabulous customer service.

You won’t function well without your fully engaged employees. That is what you need to keep in mind whenever you are tempted to treat them as though they are beneath you.

Helping Your Employees To Be More Engaged

There are several ways to help employees become more engaged with your business. One way is to ensure that there are opportunities for growth and development within the company.

This could involve offering training and development programs or providing employees with the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities.

Another way to keep employees engaged is to offer competitive compensation and benefits packages. This will help show employees that you value their contributions and appreciate their work.

Finally, creating a positive work environment where employees feel appreciated and respected can also go a long way in keeping employees engaged.

By taking steps to help employees become more engaged with your business, you can ensure that they will remain motivated and productive. This, in turn, will help your business to grow and succeed.

  1. Hi Lisa,

I recall a former job I worked as an inside sales rep in 2000 – 2001. The CEO began the company with 4 people but she made engaging employees and customer service the priorities. Fast forward to now, 20 years later. She runs the largest woman-owned business in the United States – Software House International – and is worth $3 billion. Happy, engaged employees and customers build empire.

    1. Hi Ryan, wow, that is an impressive story for sure! How long did you do that for Ryan? I can’t picture you in sales, though I should!

  2. Hi Lisa,

I was not aware about that you have this blog also.

This is my first time on this blog and it is truly helpful.

Employees engagement display their dedication or passion towards your business. I always love to keep those who are passionate about what I do.

    Thanks!
