How You Can Stay Focused in Your Small Biz To Succeed Daily

Today more than ever it is more important to for you to stay focused in your small biz to meet your goals. It’s harder to do now if you haven’t noticed. You need a focus point to stay focused on your small business.

As we head into the near year are so many things disrupting us and our businesses. Between inflation, wars, upcoming elections, and possible changes to affect our business it’s hard to stay focused and plan ahead.

But, you must stay focused to be successful.

Here Are Tips To Stay Razor Sharp Focused In Your Small Biz:

Have a Focus Point

By having a focus point you can stay focused on what really matters. No more letting distractions get in your way of staying razor-sharp-focused throughout the day.

Make your focus point into a visual graphic that you can see throughout your day. It will help you remember what’s important as the phone is ringing and notifications are going off on your phone.

By having that focal point in front of you, you will be more productive and more likely to make your goals. You will be able to stay razor sharp focused every day on your business.

Write That To-Do List To Stay Focused

Creating a to-do list can enhance your focus and productivity in managing your small business. By outlining specific tasks and prioritizing them, you can maintain clarity on what needs to be accomplished.

This enables you to allocate your time efficiently and avoid getting sidetracked by less important matters.

Additionally, a to-do list provides a sense of accomplishment as you check off completed tasks, motivating you to stay on track and meet your business goals.

When I don’t have a to-do list nearby, I flounder for parts of the day. That’s not a good way to manage your day for your small business.

Yes, do remember this one: YOU manage YOUR OWN day when you stay focused.

Only Check Email at Certain Times of Day

Don’t constantly check your email. You will get behind. Been there, done that a lot! Set up specific times when you check your email and respond.

Otherwise, you are off your to-do list in a big way. Email can be a big interruption throughout the day if YOU let it.

When you open emails, do something with them immediately. Don’t let them stay in the inbox. Label them, file them, or delete them right away. Another lesson from my struggles running a small business.

I had to spend hours one day deleting over 10,000 emails because it slowed down my computer. (which is a newer one!) Don’t let this happen to you.

When Posting for Social Media Use A Tool

I’ve been using MissingLettr  for over 4 years and I try to use it more and more for responding to comments as well as posting ahead of time.

Using this social media marketing tool is a great way to not get pulled into conversations aside from your business on Facebook or Twitter.

That in itself can be a huge time saver for many people and keep you to stay razor sharp focused on the tasks at hand.

Having the right tools to help you market your business is key today to saving you time. Another fabulous tool is IFTTT.

You can even manage your lights and heat in your home or office with IFTTT, saving you money along the way.

Keep Track of Your Expenses and Income Monthly or Even Weekly

If you lose track of your income and expenses, It will tie you up big time at the end of the year. The end of the year is a great time for you to be planning and implementing tactics for the upcoming year.

Another thing I’ve learned well over the years, unfortunately.

I’d spend a full week at the end of December regenerating invoices and Paypal payments to see where the business is money-wise.

Maybe, you could consider hiring a bookkeeper for doing these money tasks.

If you lose track of your income and expenses, It will tie you up big time at the end of the year. #smallbiztips Share on X

Answer Only Important Calls For You To Stay Focused

Don’t answer your phone throughout the day if you do not know who it is. If it’s a doctor’s office for an appointment, let it go to voice mail, unless you are waiting on test results, etc.

Of course, if it’s a client you may want to answer it as people get frustrated not being able to talk to a real person today. But if you are in “the weeds” of a major project may be just shut the phone off altogether!
